The G.V.M College of pharmacy is well equipped with laboratories and equipments to give the students hands on training in the field of pharmacy.

The college has sufficient number of labs for ungraduate training in all the major areas of pharmacy.

The labs are well furnished and designed to authorize students sufficient working space and all equipments are maintained as per PCI guidelines.

Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutical Technology Lab: This lab provides all facilities for dispensing various prescriptions and performing practical related to Pharmaceutical technology and Biopharmaceutics. Modern equipments and machinery like tablet punching, coating, capsule filling, ampule filling and sealing are used for pilot project, formulation and development studies in various dosage forms.

Physical pharmacy lab:

The lab is equipped with modern instruments like balances, microscopes, manometers, equipment for Reynold no. measurement and distillation assembly. This lab imparts training to students inP’ceutical engineering unit process in p’ceutics and study of physical properties of various materials used for formulation.

Pharmaceutical microbiology lab:

This lab is equipped with all modern facilities including aseptic area, Laminar flow bench for designed experiments such as staining and culturing of bacteria using microbial assay and sterility testing.

Pharmacology

Pharmacology lab : Lab is equipped with sophisticated instruments like isolate organ bath, Assemblies for isolated tissue experiments, Rotarod apparatus, tail flick apparatus along with computer system having installed software for virtual experiments. Various experiments conducted in the lab include effect of drug of different classes on tissue experiments.

Anatomy and physiology lab

This lab is equipped with modern instruments like Haemocytometer, B.P measurement apparatus, Human skeleton, Anatomical models and charts etc. Various experiments designed in this subject includes study of anatomy various chart and models on human anatomy by using permanent slides.

Pharmacognosy lab

As Pharmacognosy subject imparts knowledge in field of Medicinal and Natural Products. The lab contains instruments like microscope, Clevenger’s apparatus, soxhlet apparatus, charts for plant microscopy, herbal drug museum and TLC spreader, Microscope with camera. Various experiments conducted in the lab include to study the microscopic analysis and extraction of active constituents by using various techniques.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab

Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry Lab: The lab is well equipped with instruments like glasswares, hot air oven, distillation unit, water bath, hot plates, melting point apparatus and other equipments required for synthesis of various derivatives and for their qualitative and quantitative determination.

Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry Lab:

This lab provides facilities for teaching basic & advanced concept of organic chemistry such as detailed testing studies of various salts and drugs.

Pharmaceutical Biochemistry:

Biochemistry deals with study of various biological fluids like blood, urine and saliva etc. Instruments such as centrifuge machine for practical study on analysis of biochemical constituents of body are provided in the lab.

Central Instrumentation Lab:

Highlights of this lab having various modern instruments like HPLC, FTIR,double beam UV spectroscopy, Brookfield viscometer, dissolution test apparatus and many other sophisticated instruments.

Library

Library “The Reservoir of Knowledge” of college is spacious and well stocked with thousands of books relating to Pharmaceutical sciences for students & faculty members. Library has subscription of various National, International& e-journals covering all aspects of Pharmacy. It is also equipped with high speed internet facilities to access e-journals. Library has book bank facility for students.

Class room

All classroom in GVM are spacious, well-furnished and ventilated with modern teaching aids like projectors and computers along with blackboard, green board and podium for faculty.

Conference Hall

Institute has a fully air-conditioned and well-equipped conference hall which is frequently used for various events and seminars and guest lectures held in the college from time to time facilitating the students to access the best of information by eminent professionals. It also hashigh-tech presentation facility.

Herbal Garden

Herbal Garden of Institute is well maintained with hundreds of medicinal plants. So that students can learn and explore drugs from plant kingdom.Medical plants are labeled with their sources,botanical name and cultivation technique etc.

Museum

College museum displays items from all discipline of pharmacy like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy. Museum is constructed and maintained to showcase various dosage forms like tablet,capsule, ointments, ears, eye drops, cosmetics,nasal spray etc.which are displayedfor students information. Models, charts, specimens and drugs related to pharmaceutical sciences are also exhibited in the museum.

Hostel

The three Hostels ,aptly name ‘OJASWINI KUNJ’, ‘TEJSWINI KUNJ’ and ‘MANSVINI KUNJ’ are a third home to nearly 475 students .‘A home away from Home’ is the basic concept of the college hostel . These hostels are loaded with all the modern facilities to provide a comfortable living to the students. All the rooms in these hostels are well furnished, well lighted and airy. Every room is shared by four girls and every girl has her own bed cupboard and a study table with chairs.

RO water facility has been provided to the students for fresh drinking water and geysers in bathrooms for hot water facility in winter.

A temple in hostel premises inculcates religious sentiments among students. Girls from far off places like Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar , UP ,MP, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana enroll each year to study in different courses.

Medical facility has been provided to the inmates. A lady medical officer treats minor ailments and health related emergencies of the students.

The lush green lawns and grounds invite the hostellers to play badminton, kho-kho, volleyball, and many other games. Daily Newspapers and Latest Magazines are available to students for entertainment. Student host dance parties on special days and celebrate every important festival in the hostel premises.

Hostel mess is a lively place where proper hygiene is maintained and food is prepared keeping in mind the taste choice and proper nutrition for the students. In a spacious T.V Room, a Plasma TV has been installed where students enjoy various programs. G.V.M Hostels have perfect security arrangements where watchmen are on duty round the clock.

Intelligent students are provided with special facilities and incentives where as tuition facility is available to weak students who want to avail it. Canteens and a tuck-shop cater to the daily needs of the students. The home like serene atmosphere provided in G.V.M hostel helps the students to pursue their career and goals in a focused manner.

Hostel facility is available to girls on merit basis .

The students interested in the hostel accommodation, after having secured a regular admission to the college, will be required to fill the relevant admission form for the hostel and get the approval of the principal for the same . Bank

The College has an in-campus branch of State Bank of India to extend banking services to students and staff members.

Tuck Shop

The College has an in-house Tuck shop for students to provide them stationery and other related products. The shop remains open on all working days during College hours.
